Note that the average number of interruptions for a day can be quite high! Plots like these may help you finding the source of your interruptions and reducing them. For the example in the figure, I may want to go to 11/26/2007 and look at why I had so many interruptions there.

You can do that by selecting the day in the monthy log tab, then go to show daily log and then press ‘make chart’.

I can see that in that day, the time around 12AM is when I had the most interruptions; maybe I need to reorganize my day so those interruptions fade away. One easy way is to make oneself less available, by setting up ‘do not disturb’ signs, etc. Another way is to work during hours when most people are not around to become interruptions J, although this is not always a good solution if you need to work office hours.

If you can remember what the interruptions were (I can) and those were auto-interruptions (i.e., going off to browse some website), you can opt for two solutions. Use the automation section so the interruptron bugs you every time you go to a browser. This feature alone can be very beneficial. If you cheat on yourself by not doing this, or if your current job requires you to spend time on a browser, then you must control yourself (use your willpower). If you do not require the internet to work, I found that the most effective way not to be interrupted is to be offline.
